CAN PHANTOM has entered into a joint venture with Cambridge University and the semiconductor giant, ARM in a collaboration that is being co-ordinated through the government backed Digital Catapult.
Digital Catapult is the UK authority on advanced digital technology. Through collaboration and innovation, they accelerate industry adoption to drive growth and opportunity across the economy.
The project is based upon ARM’s morello demo board and is collaborating with the University of Cambridge and SRI International on its Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC instruction (CHERI) architecture. ARM has developed a prototype architecture that adapts the hardware concepts of CHERI.
Using this new technology, ARM has designed a prototype system-on-chip (SOC) and the morello development board. This enables industry and economic partners to test the new prototype architecture in real world cases.
The processes include baking the security into the microprocessor and is developed by Cambridge University themselves.
CAN-PHANTOM are an up-and-coming company that is growing at speed, they design, develop, and manufacture high technology vehicle security systems that are primarily built to prevent the current rising trend in keyless entry theft of vehicles.
Managing Director, Steven Stone said “This is a massive opportunity for both us and our partners, as always when launching a new product that spreads quickly across our installers network, it is difficult to keep apace of what is happening. We are at a stage where we now need to secure further investment for the next stage of the journey, but with partnerships such as this and some of our other discussions with the likes of the insurance business world, we really are an opportunity to become part of, we are now actively seeking that investment”
“ARM are so highly thought of in the world of technology and the opportunity to work alongside both them and Cambridge University was a huge honour, indeed when you look at some of their other partnerships, it certainly inspires you, we are in very good company.”
“Our aim is to become essential to the protection of your vehicle; we realise that it is one of your most prized assets and we care like you do that is stays with its rightful owner.”
